About the British Baseball Federation
The British Baseball Federation is the National Governing Body for baseball in Great Britain. The organisation is an unincorporated association that consists of a Board and affiliated member organisations and clubs. The British Baseball Federation is the only federated member of the World Baseball and Softball Confederation for baseball in Great Britain. The British Baseball Federation also governs, manages, and organises the Great Britain National Baseball Teams.
The objectives of the organisation are to:
To organise, promote and develop baseball in Great Britain on behalf of its membership.
To ensure the operational running of baseball is dealt with in a satisfactory manner.
To administer a national teams programme to represent the country in international baseball.
To carry out any other duties as the National Governing Body of baseball.
The voting members of the BBF are the affiliated baseball clubs, organisations and life members. The British Baseball Federation holds an annual general meeting each year at which the voting members elect an Executive Board of Officials to oversee the body and the sport. All participants (players, coaches, managers, umpires, scorers, etc.) with affiliated clubs and organisations are members of the BBF.
Affiliated clubs may enter as many teams as they wish to play in the British Baseball Federation leagues. There is a senior bracket for adults, and two youth brackets (10 to 13 and 14 to 16).
The season runs from April to September each year and ends in the National Baseball Championships. National Youth Baseball Championships are also held each year.
