Federation Appoints Marketing and Communications Lead

We have appointed Richard Evans to lead the BBF’s marketing and communications activities.

Richard, who recently stood down after five years as Chairman of Bristol Baseball Club, will work with the board to put in place a marketing and communications plan to support its plans for the long term future of the game.

This will include maximising the benefits of the World Baseball Classic and London Series for the benefit of clubs and players.

“Richard has over 30 years experience in the marketing and communications industry that can help with both our background infrastructure and the continuing needs that a National Governing Body necessitates,” said Tom Thornhill, BBF President.

“Richard will play an important non-board role in driving the sport's image and recognition regionally, nationally and internationally as we develop our operational capability. I'm looking forward to working with him and the team he assembles in the near future.”

One of his first tasks is to put together a small team of volunteer marketing professionals who can add the necessary skills and experience to the Federation and its board.

“There is no doubt that 2023 is an important year for British baseball and marketing and communications will play key role in maximising the benefits of the World Baseball Classic and the London Series for baseball players and fans across the country,” said Richard. “I look forward to working with, and learning from the board and all the clubs to make this a milestone year for our sport.”
