FEDERATION MEMBERSHIP OF BSUK POINTS WAY TO ONE NEW ORGANISATION

The move to one new organisation to help develop the future of baseball in Great Britain took a step forward today (24th February 2025) with the British Baseball Federation (BBF) rejoining BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK).

The BBF will join the British Softball Federation as members of BSUK, the development agency for both sports.

“This is an important step for the British baseball community and gives the Federation and its member clubs a formal voice in how the sport can move forward in the long term,” said BBF president Richard Evans. “Our working relationship with BSUK is now on a formal footing and we look forward to working with them to deliver “Our Future”, our long term vision for the sport.”

Both Federations will begin work with BSUK to establish a new organisation that will be designed to develop the domestic and international games and work with government agencies such as UK Sport and the national sport councils, to increase participation and support national teams.

The move comes after the BSUK Board approved BBF membership and a decision by the BBF Board to rejoin the development agency.

“I am delighted that the BBF has agreed to rejoin BSUK and I look forward to working with both Federations to ensure that both sports can develop alongside each other, “ said Matt Bazeley, the new BSUK Chair.
