Great Britain U12 finish Euros with 12-0 victory over Romania
GB U12s finished their European campaign with a resounding 12-0 over Romania on the back of a complete game, 10 strikeout pitching performance from Sebastian Taylor
The teams offense was in total control as well with Torey Horwood going four for four at the plate with three runs driven in.
He was supported by James Theodorakis, who hit a home run, and Torin Kingsmill-Norton who both had three hits and drove in three runs between them.
The victory followed an 11-6 loss to Hungary the day before.
After the opening two innings, Britain had a 4-1 lead thanks to runs from James Theodorakis, Stevie Guillet, Oliver Jago, and Wyatt Musil.
An incredible display from the Hungarians at the top of the following inning saw them snatch the lead after scoring six runs.
A brave effort from GB saw Ben Szilagyi and Sebastian Taylor add one run each to their team’s tally, although it proved not to be enough for a comeback, and they were eventually defeated 11-6
First baseman Taylor’s inside-the-park home run was his team’s first in the competition this season.
The team finished with two wins and three losses which means that Great Britain will be staying in the B-Pool at the next competition.
