Our Future Development Plan

The Our Future development plan (consultation draft) sets out key long term goals and outlines how we collectively could achieve them for the good of the sport.

This British Baseball Federation (BBF) consultation draft outlines the start of a process of review and engagement with our members and the wider British baseball community to explore the future of our sport.

Our Future Consultation Draft 2022 to 2035

Starting with BaseballSoftballUK’s (BSUK) development webinars held at the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, it was clear that a defined plan with clear objectives was needed for the sport in order for us to engage with BSUK in terms of what the community actually wanted for the sport to grow and develop.

This draft consultation document sets out a proposed vision for the future of British baseball over the next 10 to 15 years.

It has been drafted by the BBF Development Committee with specific input from BBF board members, GB Baseball, coaches and officials.

It sets out:

• How British baseball could look by 2035 and beyond

• How this can be delivered

• The key pillars for delivery

• The infrastructure and governance the BBF will put in place to deliver the vision

• Key actions for 2023

• The current state of baseball compared to its potential development over the next 10 to 20 years

The current document should be seen as the initial part of a process of review and consultation with BBF clubs, players, coaches, officials GB and independent leagues and BSUK before final publication.

The BBF Board has consulted with the British baseball community with the aim of finalising this report by the end of this February.
