Over £4500 in development grant awarded to affiliated clubs

The BBF Development Committee has awarded three grants totalling £4720 to clubs to facilitate development initiatives and enhance the overall quality and accessibility of the sport at the grassroots level.

The London Mets, Brighton Baseball Club and Birmingham Baseball club were all successful in their bids for development funding.

The Mets will put the money towards a portable pitchers mound, while Brighton will use the money to build a temporary outfield fence.

Birmingham will put its award towards the creation of a new youth programme.

“With the changes we have made to club and player membership plus the award from GB’s success at the World Baseball Classic, we have been able to set aside £20,000 for the development fund for affiliated club,” said Lee Manning, the BBF Development Official. “There is still funding available for clubs up until 2026 and I would urge clubs to apply.”
