Members of the GB Under 18, Under 15 and GB Senior Women squads will be at the three day camp set up specifically for the national baseball programme.

“These camps are designed to help develop players and to identify those who may benefit from potentially starting a collegiate or professional baseball career in the US,” said Zach Graefser, MLB’s Development Consultant for Europe and Africa and the GB pitching coach in the recent World Baseball Classic in Phoenix.

The players will be put through their paces by a range of coaches with major league and international experience including Dan Bonanno, Rick Van den Hurk and Simone Bonaccorso who will cover strength and conditioning.

GB coaches Erick Henson, the U18s head coach, Scott Bourgeois, head coach of the U15s and Will Lintern and Alan Dean who were part of the GB success at the World Baseball Classic, will attend as part of the GB Coach Development Programme.

“The recent success of GB Baseball at the World Baseball Classic, the WBSC European Championships and the U23s taking part in the World Championships later this year has focused our need to give players and coaches across the national teams programme the best opportunities to develop and represent the country in the future,” said Gavin Marshall, the British Baseball Federation’s National Teams Programme Official.

The camp will take place on Thursday 22nd February, Friday 23rd February and Saturday 24th February at The 108 in Brent Cross, the new indoor baseball and softball centre which opened earlier this year.
