The 108 indoor baseball league

The 108 and the British Baseball Federation are excited to announce the formation of a new Indoor League format to be launched this summer with a 12 week season beginning in May.

Adapting the game we all love to a ’six-a-side’ format enables British baseball players and teams to get more game time at game speed in a slightly different format.

The league will feature two divisions. Division 1 will feature Triple A and NBL players and teams while Division 2 will feature Single and Double A players and teams.

“The 108 was built to grow the game in this country, and growing the game means more opportunities for training and playing, so we’re thrilled to be able to offer this new midweek summer league to the UK playing community,” said Michael Wakelam, Co-Founder of The 108. “While we’ve seen football flourish with a five-a-side format in this country and basketball flourish with the popular 3-on-3 format around the world, we see this new format as a natural extension of the game that will ensure additional, weather independent game time for baseball lovers.

Richard Evans, BBF President added, “We need to provide more opportunities for more people to play baseball and the Indoor League will provide this for both experienced players and those wanting to try out the game.”

Teams can be comprised current squads from clubs around the UK or simply a group of friends who want to play together.

Further details regarding the league format and how to enter will be released soon.
