BBF launches Development Fund for affiliated clubs

British baseball clubs, affiliated to the national governing body, can now apply for a grant from the new 2024-2026 British Baseball Federation Development Fund.

The £20,000 grant is designed to support affiliated clubs to facilitate development initiatives and enhance the overall quality and accessibility of the sport at the grassroots level.

The grant is exclusively available to affiliated clubs of the BBF and only club applications will be considered. Applications will need to align with the BBF’s Our Future Development Plan.

Some key Our Future priorities

  • Coach development

  • Selected improvements to facilities

  • Youth development

  • Umpire and officials development

The grant cannot be used for to support day to day club operations such as paying umpires for games.

“The BBF has secured funds following the successful participation of Great Britain National Team in the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in 2023,” said Lee Manning, the BBF Development Official.

“The commitment to reinvest these funds into grassroots development reflects the BBF's dedication to fostering growth and excellence within its affiliated clubs as part of the Our Future Development Plan.”

Two levels of grant are available up to 2026 - a small grant of up to £800 and a large grant up to £3000.

Affiliated clubs may submit grant applications for either the small or large grant at any time but only once per 10-month cycle.
