Winter Training Cycle 2026-2028

1. Program Executive Overview

Great Britain Baseball is pleased to announce its Two-Year Winter High Performance Training Program spanning the 2026/27 and 2027/28 cycles. Hosted at The Alan Higgs Centre in Coventry, utilising the Indoor Dome and the Fitness Studio where applicable, the GB Program will bring together elite talent across five core strands: U12, U15 & U18, the Women’s National Team, and the Emerging Players Program.

Designed to deliver continuous development, strength & conditioning, situational execution, and live indoor reps throughout the winter, this initiative will assist our international readiness and competitive excellence ahead of upcoming European and global campaigns.

2. Venue & Facility Specifications

The entire schedule will take place under indoor conditions offering climate protection and excellent facilities, with the centre becoming our preferred central location for GB Winter cycles.

6. High Performance Expectations & Protocols

  • Punctuality & Arrival: Athletes must arrive ready at least 20 minutes prior to their designated scheduled start times for each group activation and mobility preparation.
  • Registration: This will take place in a temporary setting outside the entrance to the Indoor Dome.
  • Equipment Requirements: Full GB Baseball training apparel, trainers or turf shoes (no metal spikes allowed on indoor surfaces), personal protective gear, and dedicated hydration/nutrition.
  • Biomechanical Analysis: Sessions will likely feature high-speed movement evaluation, velocity tracking, and a swing mechanics review, where appropriate.
  • Attendance & Commitment: Full session attendance across the cycle is critical for UK based athletes for selection considerations to upcoming international tournaments. Overseas athletes must attend at least two sessions during the cycle for selection consideration.
  • Parental Control: Parents will not be permitted inside any training venue at any point other than very extenuating circumstances or where a fully protected viewing area is provided and insured by the venue only.
