The British Baseball Federation is proud to send its best wishes to two teams carrying British baseball onto the world stage this month: the BBF Lions and the London Archers, both competing at the 2026 Babe Ruth 13–16 World Series in Branson, Missouri.
Running from 5-16 August 2026, the tournament brings together champions from across the United States and around the globe for one of youth baseball’s most prestigious events. This year carries extra significance, as the World Series forms part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Babe Ruth League.
The BBF Lions represent the Federation’s official berth in this year’s competition, led by Head Coach Ian Griebenow. The squad has been built around players in, and progressing through, the Great Britain performance pathway, reflecting the BBF’s ongoing commitment to youth development and to creating meaningful international opportunities for the next generation of British ballplayers.
For many of the Lions, Branson will be the biggest stage of their careers so far – a chance to test themselves against elite opposition, to grow as athletes and teammates, and to wear their colours with pride.
The London Archers arrive in Branson as champions of Europe, having secured their place at the World Series through the Babe Ruth European Qualifiers. Established in 2017, the Archers have grown into one of the country’s most experienced travel and development programmes, with a strong record of competing across Europe and returning to the World Series stage.
Whatever the results, having two British teams competing at the 75th Anniversary World Series is something to celebrate. Both the BBF Lions and the London Archers have worked tirelessly to earn their place, and both will carry the hopes of a growing British baseball community with them.
