The upcoming EGM that has been requested and signed by more than 40% of the British Baseball Federation voting members will take place on Wednesday, September 23rd online via Microsoft Teams.
The meeting will start at 7.30pm with a hard stop of 10.30pm
Below are three documents for the membership to review prior to the EGM:
The official notice of the EGM
The motions provided by the signatories
Senior Leagues Response to the EGM
The following summarises the request as submitted by the Voting Members. The full wording governs, and members should read the accompanying document.
The request
The signatories state that they have lost confidence in the leadership and administration of the Senior Affiliated Clubs League by the Senior Affiliated Clubs League Commissioner and members of the Senior Affiliated Clubs League Committee. They ask that the matter be determined by the Voting Members.
The grounds relied upon.
The signatories set out a cumulative case concerning the consistency and proportionality of sanctions, procedural fairness and due process, the transparency and equal communication of material competition decisions, the management of conflicts of interest and competitive integrity, the standard of administration of the Senior Leagues, and adherence to the BBF Code of Conduct. These are the signatories’ allegations. They have not been determined by the Board, and no finding has been made on them.

The four motions.
Motion 1 — Constitutional amendment. Inserting new clauses 7.3 to 7.12, establishing a mechanism by which Voting Members may remove a BBF Official from office by resolution at a General Meeting, with procedural safeguards includingnotice of the grounds, a right of reply for the Official named, an opportunity for members to ask questions, and a secret ballot.
Motion 2 — Constitutional amendment · contingent on Motion 1. Amending clause 5.10 and inserting clauses 5.10A to 5.10A.5, so that a vacancy arising from removal by the Voting Members, or from removal by the Board or resignation after a Letter of Request has been submitted, is filled by election at that General Meeting rather than by Board co-option.
Motion 3 — Motion of removal · contingent on Motion 1. That Christian Carter be removed from the position of Senior Affiliated Clubs League Commissioner, and that a binding mandate be issued to the Board under proposed clause 7.12 to remove Joe O’Connell and Rhodri Theaker from their positions as members of the Senior Leagues Committee.
Motion 4 — Constitutional amendment · not contingent on any other motion. Replacing clauses 6.12 to 6.15 to retain a team-based allocation of votes while introducing a maximum entitlement of five (5) votes per Affiliated Club, preserving one vote for each Voting Member that is not an Affiliated Club, and providing for the publication of voting rolls for the Youth and Senior League Commissioner elections.
If Motions 1, 2 and 3 are passed, an election for an interim Senior Affiliated Clubs League Commissioner will take place at the meeting, with the successful candidate serving until the position is next subject to election at the AGM.
The Officials named in the request have received the motions and the grounds relied upon. They will have the opportunity to submit a written response for circulation to members before the vote, and to address the meeting in person.
