With the top two divisions having crowned their respective champions the previous weekend, it was time to conclude the 2026 season for the remaining divisions.
Farnham Park played host to the weekend’s finals, with the Division Three title contested by Cardiff Merlins and Milton Keynes Bucks.
Game one of the best-of-three, seven-inning series was won by the Bucks, who scored 13 runs across the opening three innings to take command of the game. Two further runs in the sixth gave Milton Keynes a ten-run advantage, with the game called at 15-5.
Game two on Sunday morning saw Milton Keynes strike early, as second batter Dylan McCrimmon hit a two-run inside-the-park home run to deep centre field. Cardiff responded with a run of their own but conceded five in the second inning, giving the Bucks a five-run advantage that they would not relinquish.
Trailing 9-2 heading into the final inning, Cardiff brought home two runs, but that would be all as the Bucks secured a 9-4 victory and a 2-0 series win to be crowned Division Three champions.
Diamond Two at Farnham Park hosted the Division Four finals between Plymouth Outlaws and Herts Hawks.
In game one, the Hawks took a 4-0 advantage in the first inning and by the end of the fourth had built a 13-1 lead. The Outlaws scored three unanswered runs in the fourth but struggled to eat further into Herts’ advantage, with the Hawks taking game one 14-5.
Game two on Sunday was dominated by the Hawks from start to finish, with Mike Cresswell on the mound. Herts scored three unanswered runs in each of the opening three innings to take control of the contest.
Anu Rangajith took over from Cresswell in the bottom of the fifth with Herts 11 runs ahead. Although Plymouth managed to bring home a run, the Hawks comfortably saw out the game to be crowned Division Four champions.
With places in Sunday’s final up for grabs, the Division Five semi-finals took place on Saturday.
London Mastodons recorded a convincing 12-2 victory over Bristol Brunel, with Christian Lander throwing a no-hitter.
London’s opponents in the final, New Forest Thunder, overcame Guildford Mavericks in the second semi-final of the day. Guildford scored five runs in the final inning but fell short, with Thunder progressing courtesy of a 12-9 victory.
Sunday’s final produced 21 hits and 25 runs across seven innings.
London led 7-0 as the game headed into the bottom of the second, where New Forest pulled three runs back. A further eight runs for the Mastodons over the following three innings established a commanding advantage.
Thunder scored five runs to set up a seventh and final inning with London leading 15-8. A further run in the top of the seventh left New Forest requiring eight runs to win. They would manage just one, as London Mastodons were crowned Division Five champions with a 16-9 victory.
“This season has seen a record number of teams take part and have the opportunity to compete in postseason baseball, particularly with the introduction of Division Five,” said BBF President Richard Evans.
“Our congratulations go to all the division champions on their titles and to all the teams who competed in 2026.”
