Great Britain Blind Baseball have secured their place in the 2025 European Championship final after a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands.
The Dutch side managed three hits but were unable to convert them into runs, while GB made their chances count. Jordan Hayles reached base twice, with Steven Smith driving him home in the 3rd and 4th innings to score the decisive runs.
On Saturday evening, both unbeaten teams — GB and Italy — met in the final group-stage fixture, offering a preview of Sunday’s gold medal clash. Italy, the reigning champions, made a flying start with three runs in the opening inning. GB pulled one back in the 2nd, when Holly Graham crossed the plate thanks to a Ray Clements RBI, but the Italians proved too strong, running out 9-1 winners inside four innings.
The two sides will now meet again on Sunday in the final, with Great Britain aiming to overturn the result and claim gold.
