The second and final day of the 2025 BBF Summer Cup saw an exciting day of baseball being played at Farnham Park.
Bronze
With position games at stake the final round robin games in the bronze category got under way. Birmingham Bats overcame the Co Durham Spartans to book their place in the third place playoff. Their opponents, the Saltire Sluggers who also finished 2-1 after an earlier defeat to University of Nottingham whom booked their place in the first place playoff. Bats, James Marshal, threw four hitless innings as the Bats defeated the Sluggers.
The Women’s National Development team ended their round robin play 0-3 falling to SWWBL Bronze team. The development team however made up for their losses in their seventh place playoff game against Croydon Pirates which was a 48 run scoring game
SWWBL took on the Co Durham Spartans in the fifth place play off, after capitalising on an early lead they ran out winners.
The Bronze final came down to the unbeaten University of Nottingham Thieves and the unbeaten Fire Breathing Kittens. The EEBL side, Fire Breathing Kittens took the Bronze trophy over three innings.

SILVER
The London 45ers recorded their first victory overcoming the Croydon Pirates the game was a prelude to the third place playoff where both teams would meet once again with the 45ers once again coming out on top. In what turned out to be another double header the Edinburgh Rays took on the SWWBL Silver team with the South West and Wales team coming out on top. They went on to also win the final.

Gold
Birmingham Metalheads and the Scotland Werewolves would meet twice with the Werewolves being victorious in both the round robin and fifth place playoff.
There was one run in the semi final between The London Monarchs and Dublin Spartans with the Irish team making their way to the final.
The London Archers overcame Long Eaton Storm to setup their place in the gold final. Long Eaton overcame the Monarchs in the third place playoff .
Congratulations to London Archers and GB U23 Owen Bourgeois whom yesterday announced his commitment to George Washington University in the States where he will play D1 baseball. Owen started today’s, closely contested, Gold final against the Dublin Spartans though in the end the Irish team proved too strong for the London team with the Spartans being Crowned Gold winners after a 8-7 victory.

Two days, 18 teams and three champions. The Summer Cup 2025 has concluded.
