Summer Cup 2025 – Day 1

The 2025 Summer Cup started today with eighteen teams in action at Farnham Park battling it out across three levels.

Gold

Long Eaton Storm and Dublin Spartans ended the day 2-0. Storm’s close fought battle with London Monarchs and another close victory over the Scotland Werewolves gave them a great start to the tournament. Dublin Spartans kept the London Archers scoreless before beating Birmingham Metalheads by one run in their second game.
The Archers came strong in their second game of the day with a solid outing from GB U15 pitcher Jacob Henry who also hit a home run.

Silver

Edinburgh Rays ended day one of their first Summer Cup with two wins after seeing off competition from Croydon Pirates Silver and London 45ers. Also with two wins were SWWBL Silver team who also defeated the Pirates and 45ers.

Bronze

Eight games took place in the Bronze competition. Scotlands Saltire Sluggers allowed only one hit as they hit the run limit on every inning against the GB Women development squad. The Sluggers also went on to record a win over SWWBL Bronze. The Fire Breathing Kittens ended their day 2-0 with wins over Birmingham Bats and County Durham Spartans. The Spartans had earlier defeated Croydon Pirates Bronze. Nottingham University Thieves also made it 2-0 for day one with wins over GB Women Development Team and SWWBL Bronze.
