Great Britain Baseball and the British Baseball Federation are pleased to announce the Great Britain Under-15 squad that will travel to Sweden this month to take part in an international exhibition series against the Sweden Under-15 National Team.
The squad will depart for Rättvik on Sunday 14 June, where they will face Sweden in a three-game series across Monday and Tuesday. Following those games, both teams will travel to Leksand to compete in a further two contests, providing valuable international experience and development opportunities for all players involved. The GB squad will return home on Thursday evening after five games against their Scandinavian counterparts.
This year’s squad features strong representation from across the United Kingdom, with players selected from a number of clubs and regions. Among those earning selection are players from the North East of England and Wales, who will proudly make their debuts in a Great Britain uniform.
“The GB staff are super excited to work with this unique squad of baseball players. It’s the first time the under 15 team has an opportunity to travel to Sweden. We are looking forward to the further development of these athletes who have worked hard over the Winter.” said Head Coach Ian Griebnow “This is a time for these players to showcase their ability on an international stage. We are excited to see what this team can do representing GB and all the clubs back home with pride and determination.“
The series represents an important step in the development pathway for these young athletes, offering them the opportunity to compete internationally, gain experience against high-quality opposition, and represent Great Britain on the international stage.
