This weekend, GB Baseball hosted an evaluation day at The Alan Higgs Centre in Coventry, kicking off the selection process for their 2026 season 12U, 15U, and 18U age-group teams.
A total of 115 athletes from all over the country took part, putting themselves through a full day of assessments. Alongside showcasing their baseball skills, the young players were evaluated on strength, speed, and endurance, giving coaches a broad picture of their overall athletic profile. The atmosphere throughout the day was energetic and supportive, with staff and volunteers working together to keep things running smoothly.
“It was a great start to our season. The event was extremely well attended, the staff created and executed a plan that both captured our needs and provided an engaging and educational environment.” said National Teams Programme Official, Glen Robertson. “On behalf of the BBF I would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time and to the athletes and their families for their support.”
The evaluation day marked an important early step in building the national age group teams for the next competitive cycle, and the strong turnout reflects the growing depth and enthusiasm within British baseball.
