The third British Baseball Summer Cup takes place this weekend with 18 teams from across Great Britain and Ireland fighting it out at Farnham Park over 3 levels.
Irish team, Dublin Spartans, will join the British sides in the competiton at Gold (NBL/AAA) level alongside Birmingham Metalheads and London Archers in Group Green with London Monarchs, Long Eaton Storm and Scotland Werewolves in Group Rose to complete the Gold level.
Edinburgh Rays will compete alogside Croydon Pirates, London 45ers and a SWWBL team in Silver (AA) level.
The Bronze (A) level will be split into two groups. . Bismuth will include Birmingham Bats, County Durham Spartans, Croydon Pirates and the Fire Breathing Kittens. A GB Women’s National Team Development Squad will join Saltire Sluggers, another team from SWWBL and University of Nottingham Thieves in Phosphor.
“The Summer Cup has always been a celebration of British Baseball with over 300 players and officials from every corner of the country getting together to compete and share their love of the sport. This third edition could be the best yet” said BBF President Richard Evans.
Last year’s winners were Essex Baseball Club (Gold), Birmingham Metalheads (Silver) and London Mets (Bronze)
The first games on Saturday start at 9am with group games continuing through Sunday morning with the playoff games starting at 11am Sunday.
