Two of Great Britain Baseball’s rising young stars will be among the 90 top European U19 players at MLB’s 2026 European Development Tournament (EDT) being held in Barcelona in April.
Charlie Battista (GB U18s and U15s) and Owen Bourgeois (U18s and U23s) have been selected to take part in the six day tournament in front of scouts from MLB clubs and US Colleges.
They will be given the opportunity to showcase their talents during pro-style workouts and in four competitive games in front of MLB scouts.
“This a massive achievement for Charlie and Owen and is a testament to the hard work and commitment they have put in over the years,” said Matt Moran, Head Coach of the Great Britain U18 team. “Their selection also shows the GB programme is trending in the right direction and is capable of producing young athletes who can compete against the best other European nations can offer.”
Charlie, a pitcher and shortstop, and Owen, a pitcher, have both represented Great Britain on the international stage at all age group levels.
