The Margaret Borley Youth National Baseball Championships concluded today, with the final day of competition, hosted at Herts Grovehill, crowned the U12 and U16 champions.
U12 play saw LYBL Blue and Cambridge Atom Smashers enter the championship bracket after last weekend’s play-in. They faced off against LYBL Red and London Mets, with both LYBL teams winning their semi-finals to set up an all-LYBL final. A pitching masterclass left the game deadlocked at 0-0 until LYBL Red broke the game open with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. LYBL Red put together a combined no-hitter to raise the trophy and defend LYBL’s 2024 title.
In the U16 bracket, Cambridge Atom Smashers, Herts Dragons, and LYBL battled it out in pool play, with Herts and LYBL progressing to the final. A back-and-forth game saw LYBL grind ahead to win the final and win the championship of the newly formed U16 division.
Congratulations to all of our winners across the YNBCs. Thank you to all who have been involved in making 2025 a fantastic season. We wish all a good off-season and look forward to seeing everyone out again for an even better 2026!
