This Saturday, 16th May, the Greenwich Giants are throwing open the gates for their second annual Women & Girls Baseball Festival — and we’d love to see you there.
Following an amazing turnout in 2025, we’re back at the University of Greenwich’s Avery Hill campus in New Eltham (SE9 2UG) for a free, fun-filled day of baseball for women and girls of all ages and abilities. Whether you’ve never held a bat in your life or you’re already a seasoned player, you are warmly welcome.
Sessions run from 9:45am through to 2:30pm, with something for everyone:
- T-Rex T-Ball (Girls & Boys 4–7 yrs) — 9:45–10:45am
- U12 Coach & Player Pitch (Girls & Boys 8–12) — 11:00am–12:30pm
- Women & Girls (12+ yrs) — 12:30–2:30pm
We’re thrilled to be welcoming back an incredible line-up of guest coaches this year. Leading the day is Laura Hirai, who has just been drafted into the inaugural season of the Women’s Pro Baseball League — a huge achievement and a brilliant inspiration for every participant walking through the gate. Joining her are Jess Vernon, Amanda Taylor, Chereen Harrocks and Gabi Martens from the Great Britain Women’s National Team. These five coaches bring not just elite experience but a genuine love of sharing the game — and it shows.
As Henna, our club Secretary and Women’s Member, put it after last year’s festival: “The 2025 Women & Girls Festival was great fun. The coaches were amazing – so patient with those who had never played before, while giving hints and tips to the more experienced. Everyone had lots of fun.”
You can register your interest via a short online form to help us plan the sessions, or simply turn up on the day — all are welcome. First-time visitors to the club can also claim the festival as their free taster session.
The festival takes place on the Astro Pitch next to the car park at the University of Greenwich, New Eltham (SE9 2UG). Free parking is available on-site and on the street, with toilets and changing rooms in the adjacent sports hall.
The festival is inspired by the MLB World Tour London Series and proudly supported by BaseballSoftballUK, the British Baseball Federation, Greenwich Get Active, and the University of Greenwich.
