The Great Britain U15 National Team recorded a 19-0 victory over Sweden in Game 4.
GB combined strong pitching with a disciplined offensive approach to secure the win, finishing with 10 hits, 14 walks and 19 runs, while preventing Sweden from registering a hit throughout the contest.
The standout performance came from starting pitcher James Theodorakis, who delivered one of the most effective pitching displays of the tournament. The right-hander threw a complete-game no-hitter over six innings, striking out 12 batters while allowing just one walk. From the opening pitch to the final out, Theodorakis controlled the game and never allowed Sweden to establish any momentum.
At the plate, Great Britain continued the offensive form that has been a hallmark of the team’s play throughout the tournament. Hugo Esperon Beade led the attack with three hits and four RBIs, while Cameron Griebenow added two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Taylor Wormington collected two hits and two RBIs, and Lloyd Kirby contributed three RBIs as GB scored in every inning.
Head Coach Ian Griebenow praised both the team’s offensive approach and his starting pitcher after the game.
“The GB boys put together some quality at-bats, and when your starter is pitching like he did today, it gives the whole team confidence. James [Theodorakis] set the tone from the first pitch and gave us a strong performance on the mound.
“We’re extremely pleased with this performance. James is a big part of our GB U15 programme, and today he showed the qualities he brings to the team. His work ethic, competitiveness and ability to perform in key moments set a great example for the rest of the group.”
The victory added to a successful tour for the Great Britain U15s, who continued to develop as a team while proudly representing Great Britain on the international stage.
